A compassionate and caring physician, Dr. Rao is known for her attention to detail and deep understanding of medical matters.

Dr. Rao was trained in the prestigious Mysore Medical College in India. She then went on to complete her residency at the Hackensack University Medical Center, a non-profit research and teaching hospital nationally ranked 9th in adult medical practices, and a fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension (Kidney Diseases) at the Winthrop University Medical Center.

Among the specialties, a kidney specialty is especially well-paired with internal medicine practice because the kidneys, as the body's primary filter, affect and are affected by everything that happens to the body. Dr. Rao’s twin focuses on internal medicine and nephrology allow for a more complete picture of the human body and have made her a much sought after doctor in the Edison and Central Jersey region over the past 20 years.

With a focus on preventive care and long term effects of medical care, Dr. Rao tries to examine a patient’s situation in its entirety and encourages her patients to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The doctor is fluent in Hindi, Tamil, and Kanada and enjoys painting and performing Indian Classical music with her husband and two boys.
